David Rafael Medina Esq. 65 years of age from Denver Colorado born July 4 ^th , 1951 passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 26 ^th , 2016.

David enjoyed swimming laps at the local recreation center and did so on a daily basis whenever possible. He was an avid reader with a particular love for history books. He spent his career protecting the rights of laborers and undocumented workers. Working for the Local 55 Carpenters Union first as a laborer, later as a business agent, and finally an attorney. He sat on the board of Directors for the Centro de Trabajadores Unidos. David had an undeniable zest for life and family and was dedicated to helping those who needed help.

Born in Pueblo and resided in Denver. He attended the University of Colorado & the University of Nebraska Lincoln College of Law. David was a beloved father, brother and grandfather.
He is survived by his mother Helen Jaggers, brother Juan Medina and sister Yolanda Valiente.
Preceded in death by his father Antonio Medina. He was a loving father to Antonio Medina, Olga Avila & Jose Medina and grandfather of 5, Alexandria, Santana, Elias, Lucius and Penelope.

Services will be held at Latina Funerals and Cremation located at 3020 Federal Boulevard, Denver, Colorado on Wednesday October 12 ^th at 10:30 A.M. Interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Followed by a Memorial Service and dinner at 5 PM at Park Church 3025 West 37 ^th Avenue, Denver, CO 80211
