Born on December 31, 1951
Departed on June 17, 2016 and resided in Denver, CO
John Paul Lopez was born December 31, 1951 and was called home by the Lord on June 17, 2016.
Though John Paul was taken from us suddenly, he lived a very full and meaningful life. John Paul had a passion for sports, fine dining, art, jazz, politics, and fashion. These interests are only superseded by his passion for his faith and his family. John Paul was a parishioner of the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. He served his parish as head usher for over 15 years, was an active member in the Knights of Columbus, Council 539, and was an avid pro-life advocate within the community. When John Paul was not at church, he was likely spending time with his family, firmly expressing his opinions, coaching everyone on how to grow in the faith, offering advice on appropriate dress, and lightheartedly giving everyone a hard time as an expression of his love. His most treasured time was spent with his children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, and nephews. John Paul lived to serve Christ through his service to others. He was a true model of Christ's love and compassion to all who were blessed to know him. John Paul will be truly missed and forever loved.
John Paul is survived by his son Marcus and daughter in law Teresa, daughter Nicole, son Jason, daughter Darlene, son Anthony, grandson Moses, grandson Jaren, granddaughter Jalene, his siblings and his nieces and nephews.
