Stella Cordova

November 24, 1928 — February 8, 2022

Stella Cordova of Denver, Colorado was born on November 24,1928 in Helper, Utah to Miguel and Silviana Maes. Stella entered the gates of Heaven on February 8, 2022 surrounded by loving family members at 93 years old.

Stella is survived by her children Stella Leola Sisneros & husband Charles LeeRoy, Darlene "DD" Reyes, Dale Mansanarez & wife Connie; stepchildren, Veronica Burglund & husband David, Mary Romero, Ricky Cordova, Sam Cordova & wife Valerie; and her sister Belle Martinez. She also leaves behind four grandchildren and spouses, six great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.

Stella was preceded in death by two loving husbands, Herman Cordova (2020) and Gilbert Mansanarez (1976); her parents Miguel and Silviana Maes; siblings, Emma Maes, Odie Maes, and Manuel Duran; son-in-law Sergio Reyes; great-great-granddaughter Aria Rose Randle; and step-daughter Linda Romero.

Stella served the Lord and had an intimate, personal relationship with Him since childhood often saying, “God Loves me, He's so good to me!”

Her parents were pastors and she learned to give of her time and talents to serve God and her church. She was a church pianist for many years, directed Christmas plays, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, discipled girls as a Missionettes leader, active in Women’s Ministries, and mentored young people and those new in the faith on how to live a life that honors God. She was an unwavering, faithful steward in the support of the ministries and mission of the church.

In later years, Stella and Herman worked on the nursing home ministry team. They also led inmates in worship for the jail ministry with Stella playing the piano and Herman the guitar. It was their delight to honor the Lord together with their talents.

Truly, there was rejoicing as a “good and faithful servant” was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven by the God she loved and served. Be assured, it is her desire that we all meet her there.
